A great way to use those overripe bananas!
Sift together first 4 ingredients; add nuts and set aside. In mixing bowl, thoroughly cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Stir in mashed bananas, then flour-nut mixture, beating just until smooth. Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. Bake at 350F. for about 1 hour, or until done when tested. Turn out on rack to cool.
