Suggest a better description1. Heat the oil in a skillet (frying pan) and fry the onion for 5 minutes until softened. Add the carrots, celery and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
2. Add the tomatoes, broth, wine, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
3. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker pot, stirring in the beans and making sure they are covered by the liquid. Stir in the sausage and bouquet garni.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours until the beans are tender. Discard the bouquet garni before serving.
