Place defrosted stew beef/tofu in the marinade and allow for at least 4 hours of marination time. Stew beef can be tough to chew if it isn't marinated long enough.
Preparing Tofu for Marinade:
Drain liquid from tofu package, sandwich the tofu between two pads of paper towels and place on a plate. Place a second plate on top of the tofu, and place a weighted object (recipe books/pickle jar full of water, etc.) on top of the second plate. Press for an hour, changing out wet paper towels for dry ones occasionally. The goal is to press out a majority of the liquid in the tofu, allowing it to have more room to absorb the marinade.
Once the majority of the liquid is pressed out, cut the tofu into 1 inch x 1 inch squares and put them into the marinade. The longer it sits in the marinade, the more flavorful!
