In skillet over medium-high heat melt fat and then cook bacon, ground meat and onion until browned, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir in tomatoes with their liquid and remaining ingredients.
Over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 25 - 30 minutes or until macaroni is cooked. Stir occassionally as the cheese likes to stick.
If mixture gets too dry before then, add a small amount more water.
This is great served with steamed brocolli.
