This recipe is COD fish, but you can use shrimp instead. Just peeled and devein shrimp before cooking it.
1. Pour vegetable oil into deep fryer or large heavy skillet, fill no more than 1/3 full.
2. Heat to 375 degrees F or on skillet medium heat.
3. Mix batter mix and Old Bay in medium bowl.
4. Add beer or water; stir until smooth.
5. Dip fish or shrimp into batter shake off excess.
6. Fry fish or shrimp a few pieces at a time, 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown.
7. If using skillet turning once to brown evenly, and drain on paper towels.
Kitchen tip: You can also use Shrimp, Synagogue, Pollock, Halibut, or Tilapia for the Cod.
