Scald soy milk. Pour over shortening and sugar in large bowl, stir til melted. Cool to lukewarm, add yeast, stir til dissolved. Sift together flour and salt. Stir in half gradually, then add ENER-G. Beat thoroughly, stirring in remaining flour a little at a time.Let rise 1 hr. Knead, roll to 1/4". Cut in 2" squares or diamonds. Let rise 30-45 min. Heat oil to 385?. Drop squares in, turning when golden. Drain on paper towels and dust with sifted powdered sugar.
