Sift together flour and baking powder. Whisk in salt and sugar. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. To the dry ingredients add the egg yolks, canola oil and milk. Stir together, then add 2 tsp vanilla. Fold in egg whites. Spray waffle maker with cooking spray and cook until golden brown.
