A variation of San Giorgio's recipe. Easy to make, and delicious. Especially for meat lovers.
Pre-heat oven to 350F
Brown meat and drain
Add sauce and simmer for 10 minutes
At same time, rapid boil 3 quarts of water - add 2 tsp of salt
Add pasta to boiling water and stir; return to rapid boil
Cook uncovered stirring occasionally; about 10 minutes
In a separate bowel, combine cheeses, eggs, salt, and pepper for filling,
Drain pasta well, optionally add small amount of olive oil
Spread about 1/2 cup of meet sauce on bottom of 6x4x2-inch glass baking dish.
Arrange 3-4 pasta pieces lengthwise over sauce, overlapping edges.
Spread 1/3 of the cheese filler over the pasta and cover with about 1 cup of the meat sauce
Repeat layers of pasta, cheese, and meat sauce twice.
Top it with a layer of pasta and any remaining meat sauce. If no meat sauce remains, use surplus pasta sauce.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese
Cover with foil and bake for approx 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly
Remove foil and bake another 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned
Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
You can never have too much meat sauce/
