No corn syrup!
Preheat oven to 400.
Crack two eggs into a large bowl. Beat them with whisk until foamy. Set eggs out for 1 hour before starting so they will be warm. Add 1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick). Let melted butter cool for a minute or two so that it's heat doesn't cook the eggs. Add 1 cup of light brown sugar, 1/4 cup white sugar and 1 tbsp of flour. Mix well. Add 1 tbsp of milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup chopped pecans. Stir filling until combined. Pour into unbanked 9" pie shell. Top with pecan halves into flower design.
Put in oven for 10 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 degrees. Continue baking pie for another 30-40 minutes or until the filling is set. Keep a close eye on it so it does not over bake.
Add dollop of whipped cream. Serve.
