Full recipe for loaf pan and 2/3 sugar. Heat oven no more than 160C bottom and air second lowest shelf on steel. Tried it with rosewater instead of vanilla but could not really tasted it (and 1 tsp ground cardamom; next time 2 tsp)
UPDATE: the one in Glorious French Food is the new winner as follows:
-preheat bottom and fan to 180 oas marks on the oven's knob
-use half the sugar (processed as instructed to obtain superfine)
1.5-2 tsp vanilla ground
-use the whisk attachment of the processor on min mid then max (as a general rule) while scraping when needed
- remove the lid of the cover of the processor to allow for the air
- add 1 tsp baking powder to the mixture and 1 tbs poppy/nigella seeds just before adding the flour while the whisking is on MIN just till it is incorporated
- do not increase the milk to compensate for the seeds
Bake for 80-90 minutes 9 (no less)

Used the titular recipe in CCOF:
-halved the sugar
-Used cake flour
-Set the temperature to 180 degrees (not less) ON my oven; centre rack
- Added 1 teaspoon pulverized vanilla beans to the flour mix
- Creamed the butter first then the sugar for 5 whole minutes and 1 minute after each egg. Used high speed on my hand mixer all along the process.
Used candied yuzu (had it) in its entirety in the flour mix (90 gm or about 3 oz), but if used DECREASE the sugar even more than just half, although better to use zest and skip candid fruit all together
-Poured the syrup instead of brushing it and it go all soaked in!
The best version I have ever made of pound cake!
