This was so good that I had to ask Bev to share the recipe.
Cream butter and crisco. Add sugar, vanilla and egg yolks. In separate bowl, combine banana and baking soda; leave 15 minutes. In additional bowl mix flour and baking powder. Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add banana. Whip egg whites and fold in.
Pour batter into greased oblong pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Ice with:
Heat 1/4 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar to melt. Add 1/4 cup milk and bring to a boil. Cool. Add 1 3/4 cup icing sugar to spread over cake.
