Fresh Flaky biscuits
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Combine the flours, salt, sugar and baking powder on a clean counter top
Cut the butter into 1/4 inch pieces and keep chilled
Cut the butter into the flour until the are pea size pieces
Add the milk and gently combine into a soft ball
Fold dough in half 5 times
Roll dough out to 1 inch
Cut into desired shapes
Place on baking sheet so biscuits are just touching
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and delicious
Remove from oven and brush tops with melted butter and serve
Work dough as little as possible so they will be tender and flaky.
Don't rework dough to cut more biscuits, instead use the scraps to build a boarder around exposed edges of biscuits. These pieces can be eaten later as snacks and testers and will allow soft edges on the biscuits
