Suggest a better descriptionPreheat oven to 450*. Cut butter into small pieces and return to the refrigerator. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Use a pastry cutter to cut cold butter into flour mixture. Stop when butter is the size of large peas. Add the milk and egg and mix just until combined. The dough will be sticky. Turn the dough out on a floured surface. Sprinkle some flour on the top and knead 10-15 times. Pat the dough out to 3/4-1" thick and cut with a biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a lightly floured baking sheet and bakd 15-20 minutes until golden brown on top. Yields 10.
