1. Wash black beans. Cover with 5 cups of water and soak overnight (or, bring to boil for 2 minutes and let stand for 1 hour.)
2. Boil beans in salted water until just tender.
3. Add bacon, garlic and onion. Season with chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper to taste.
4. Add enough beef brother to cover beans. SImmer slowly until beans begin to fall apart and make a thick, rich ssauce.
5. Serve over mounds of warm, cooked rice.
