Whisk together first 6 ingredients in a small bowl . Can be made ahead. Cover and chill. Bring to room temp before serving.
Preheat oven 450 degrees.
Stir hoisin sauce and chili paste in a small bowl.
Heat cast iron skillet over medium heat and add oil. Add cod skin side down cook for 2 minutes then turn over.
Spoon hoisin sauce mixture over top divide equally
Transfer to oven and bake for 5 minutes.
Place each fillet in a shallow bowl, spoon ginger sauce around fish serve with steamed rice
Would make more of hoisin sauce mix and serve over fish.
Cut soy sauce by half.
