Suggest a better descriptionCherry Filling: Combine tart cherries with port &1 tbs kirsch & almond extract. Chill overnight. Drain
Chocolate mousse: nuke chocolate squares. Stir in 3 tbs Kirsch. Stir into 1 we'll beaten egg. Whip 1 cup whipping cream with 2 tbs sugar. Fold into chocolate.
Butter frosting: cream butter, blend into 1/2 confection sugar. Add 1 egg& 1 1/2 Tsp vanilla . Add cream for spreading consistency.
To assemble: split cakes & freeze. Spread 1/2 cup frosting on bottom layer of cake. Make 2 1/2 inch ridges of frosting on cake. Fill in with cherry filling. Chill. Set on next layer covering with mousse. Chill 20 minutes. Make 2 cups whipping cream(2tbs sugar, vanilla). Hold back 1/4 cup & spread rest on cake. Chill. Put on last cake layer, garnish with whip cream dollops & maraschino cherries. Chill 2 hours
