Grease a 9"x9"x2" baking pan.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Mix 3/4 cup sugar and shortening at high speed in large mixing bowl. Add egg and continue beating. At low speed add baking powder mixture and alternate with the milk. Carefully fold in the blueberries.
For topping mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour and cinnamon. Add butter to solidify (instead of leaving as powder.)
Spread batter in pan and top with crumb mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
Recipe can be used to make muffins. Reduce baking time to 25 to 30 minutes. Check with toothpick for doneness.
