Suggest a better descriptionHeat oven to 375. Sift together baking powder and salt. In bowl beat butter until fluffy. Beat in sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs thoroughly; add vanilla. Stir in flour mixture about 1/2 at a time, alternating with milk 1/2 at a time. Stir in 2 cups berries, if desired, another 1/2 cup berries, mashed. Spoon batter in cups, filling them to the top. Sprinkle with nutmeg sugar. Bake 25-30 minutes, until golden. Let muffins cool at least 30 minutes in pan before removing.
