Preheat oven to 375
For fruit: Halve the nectarines along their natural seam but leave skins on. Cut each half into 3 wedges. Toss nectarines with blueberries, sugar, and tapioca, and put into a buttered 9 inch casserole dish. Dot top with pieces of butter.
For cobbler: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into medium bow. Rub in 2 tbsp of butter with fingertips until no visible pieces remain. Rub in remaining 4 tbsp butter just until it is even pea-sized pieces. Whisk together egg and cream, and stir into dry ingredients to make loose dough.
Spoon large spoonfuls of dough on top of fruit in clumps.
Bake 1 hour.
