There is no alcohol in this recipe. This was as close as I could guess to the bourbon chicken you can get in the food courts of most malls. My family loves it. I usually serve it with white rice and streamed broccoli. Let me know if you have any serving ideas. We love variety. :)
Combine uncooked chicken, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, brown sugar, and 3 cups of water in a 2 qt. sauce pan. Bring to a boil and reduce to med-hi. Do not cover, this will over boil easily.
After about 8 min or so, combine the corn starch and cold water in another container. Stir the corn starch until evenly mixed with the water. Pour into the shimmering sauce, stirring as you add and a little after.
Cook until sauce is clear and thickened, stirring occasionally. Usually another 5-7 minutes.
