Base recipe for white bread machine
Pour water and shortening into bread machine. Add dry ingredients then yeast. To make this into a good herb bread just add 1/2 teaspoon each of Basil, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme to dry ingredients.
When I prepare bread I place all dry ingredients in a quart canning jar with the exception of yeast. (usually 6 jars + the loaf) Then all you have to do is add water, shortening and yeast.
