Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg; stir in bread cubes. Stir in brown sugar and raisins. Pour mixture into 9 x 13 baking dish. Place in larger shallow pan on oven rack. Pour hot water into larger pan to 1 inch deep.
Bake 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Cool slightly before serving.
*Serve with Hard Sauce or milk.
Recipe can be cut in half. Also, brown sugar can be adjusted to taste.
