These hearty cookies are great for those rushed mornings, just grab a handful and glass a milk and you're good. The recipe originally came from "Cookies! A Cookie Lover's Collection". They also make a great snack.
1. Heat oven to 350F (180C).
2. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar, shortneing, butter, egg and vanilla.
4. Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
5. Add oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
6. Beat at low speed until a soft dough forms.
7. Stir in the prunes, apples and pecans.
8. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls 2 inches (5 cm) apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
9. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
10. Cool completely before storing.
