Heat oil in 4-5 qt pot. Add onion - saute for appx 3 minutes. Add water and boullion, heat to boiling, stirring to dissolve boullion. Gradually add noodles and salt. Simmer uncovered until noodles appear soft. Stir in broccoli and garlic powder - cook until broccoli is soft. Add milk and cheese - cook until cheese melts, stirring occasionally. Don't boil after adding milk and cheese because it may curdle.
