In a large bowl, combine broccoli slaw, onion, cheese, nuts and cherries. Set aside.
In a 1-cup liquid measuring cup or small bowl, combine all of the dressing ingredients (olive oil, vinegar, maple syrup, garlic and salt). Whisk until the mixture is well blended.
Pour the dressing over the salad and stir until all of the broccoli is lightly coated in dressing.
Let salad marinate for at least 20 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
MAKE IT VEGAN: Omit the cheese and use maple syrup instead of honey
MAKE IT DAIRY FREE: Omit the cheese.
MAKE IT NUT FREE: Be sure to use sunflower or pumpkin seeds instead of slivered almonds
