Suggest a better descriptionPre-warm the oven to broil. De-stem each tomato and cut into slices about 2 inches thick. Place the tomato slices on a broiler pan as you work. In a small mixing bowl, blend together the sugar, basil, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle a bit of the mixture on top of each tomato slice, then slip the pan under a hot broiler for about 2 minutes. Meanwhile, add the bread crumbs to the melted butter and toss lightly with a fork to coat. Add the blue cheese to the mixture and toss again.
