Melt the butter in large skillet over medium heat until the milk solids brown. Transfer to bowl and place in freezer to cool until just congealed.
Meanwhile, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Beat the brown butter, bourbon, and sugar and an electric mixer until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs one at a time. Then add in vanilla. Mix well then add in flour mixture. Mix until just incorporated.
Transfer batter to prepared butter sugar pan. Smooth the top, and rap the pan to let the batch settle. Bake about 1 hour.
To make syrup combine everything but bourbon until it boils and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat let cool for 5 minutes and stir in Bourbon.
Remove cake from oven let cool and pour syrup over the cake evenly in a few sessions, so it soaks in evenly.
