Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter then slowly add sugar, well-beaten eggs and milk. Sift flour with salt and baking soda and mix in with wet ingredients. Add vanilla and mix. Drop by spoonfuls on a greased baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
