Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
Toast the pecans or walnuts in the oven or microwave. I use the microwave. Place in micro safe bowl and cook for 2 minutes on high.
Melt the 1/4 cup butter - make sure it is completely melted - otherwise it will not mix with the other ingredients.
Stir the 6 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa into the butter - mix thoroughly.
Add the sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, flour and salt. Mix thoroughly.
Break the pecans or walnuts into small pieces, I put them in a bag and press on them.
Add the pecan or walnut pieces to the mix and stir them in.
Lightly grease a 8x8 pan with vegetable oil. Dust the oil lightly with flour so the brownies will not stick.
Bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Poke your brownies with a toothpick, if it pulls out clean, brownies are down.
Let them cool until slightly warm, then cut and serve
These are great to just eat or warm and put ice cream on top
