Half recipe is for a 9x9x2 or 11x 7x 1 1/2 Pyrex dishes
If making whole recipe use large lasagna. Pan.
Can be prepared for baking 1 day in advance .
Cook frozen chopped broccoli, drain and set aside. Cut off crusts from 10slices of bread, and use glasses to cut donut cut outs from 8 slices of breas. Cut trimmings and 2 slices into 1/4 inch cubes. Put cheese, bread cubes and drained chopped broccoli into large mixing bowl, and toss well. Use butter to grease pan, and put batter into it. Arrange donut shaped bread rings on top of mixture, overlapping if needed. Put eggs into mixing bowl, eBay with wire whisk, or mixer: add basil, salt, and pepper and beat until smooth. Pour seasoned egg mixture over bread rings in pan and let stand for 30 min.
If prepared ahead of time, cover with foil and refrigerate until 1 1/4 hours before plan to serve.
Heat oven to 350' and put uncovered pan in center rack in oven. Bake 65-75 min or until mixture is puffed and lightly browned( done when knife inserted in middle comes out clean). Serve right away.
