This light and simple pasta takes no time to make, and is good any time of year, but especially good when tomatoes are fresh from the garden.
Cut grape tomatoes in half, lengthwise.
Combine tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and sugar in a bowl and let combine for about 30 minutes.
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add a generous amount of salt. Add pasta and cook according to package.
Meanwhile heat a skillet and add tomato mixture, tossing for about the amount of time it takes to cook the pasta.
When the pasta is cooked, add it to the skillet and toss to combine.
If the pasta is a little dry add a bit of the pasta water.
Add the Parmesan and fresh basil, and toss again.
