Combine milk, brown sugar, vanilla, and 1/4 t cinnamon in a large saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat. Stir in Kasha; reduce heat to low. Cook and stir 8-10 minutes or until kasha is tender and water is absorbed.
Melt butter I large non stick skillet over medium heat. Stir in remaining 1/4 t cinnamon. Add apples; cook and stir 4-5 minutes or until tender. Stir in maple syrup and walnuts; heat through.
Spoon kasha into six bowls. Top with Apple mixture. Serve immediately.
For creamier consistency, use more milk
