Combine sugar, flour, cornmeal and salt in large bowl; add buttermilk and eggs, stirring until blendedl. Stir in vanilla an butter and pour into pie shell. Bake @ 350? for 40-45 min or until set. Check for doneness after the minimum baking time by gently shaking pie. Center should bed set w/a slight jiggle. Cool on wire rack about 1 hour.
