Sauce for Cakes and Christmas Pudding
Brown sugar and butter over medium heat until quite brown.
Add flour and salt , stirring until smooth.
Gradually add water and stir until thick.
Cook a few minutes longer.
Remove from heat and add the vanilla.
Note: You don't have to brown sugar and butter unless you wan the sauce to be dark.
