Fast and easy cookies.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a large bowl, beat butter, shortening and sugars with an electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in flour and salt. Dough will be dry and crumbly; use hands to mix completely. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 7 1/2x15-inch rectangle. Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares. Place about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 25 minutes or until let. Cookies will brown very little, and the shape should not change. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
