Mix together the lettuce, onion and olives. Pour a little olive oil over the salad, mix it in and then sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over and mix well. Add the peppers. Pour the dressing over the salad right before serving and sprinkle with croutons.
Dressing: Blend together last 8 ingredients (egg optional) in a blender and top salad mixture just before serving.
