Mix together all ingredients in bowl for cake in bowl and beat by hand 1 minute. Place in a greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking pan that has been sprayed with non-stick baking spray. Bake at 300 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Remove from oven and spread with icing (see below).
ICING:
Mix butter, milk and sugar in saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Rove from heat and add vanilla, pecans, and coconut. Spread on hot cake. Let cool and cut into squares to serve.
