A hearty stew that is easy to make and will impress at your next camp out.
**All canned items are about 15oz in size. Since this is a stew and not a baked dish, all coals are beneath the cast iron dutch oven and this should be stirred every 5-8 minutes to prevent burning.
Pre-heat cast iron dutch oven to 350F with all coals underneath oven.
Add oil to oven and let heat. Add ground meat and onions. Stir often until meat is browned and the onions are caramelized. Add garlic and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add potatoes, sweet potatoes and all canned items (undrained). Add spices (more or less to taste). Cook for 45 minutes. Add salt at end of cooking as canned items are heavy in salt.
