Drain potatoes reserve liquid, In a pot combine 1 cup potatoe liquid , sugar, salt, butter and spices. Cook slowly stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Bring mixture to boil. Cook until syrup is thick. Remove from heat. Remove from heat. Place potatoes in aa greased casserole. Cover with syrup. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes until bubbly. Serves 6.
