To put zing into this dish, and to make it moist and palatable, add to the canned beans the catsup, molasses, brown sugar, bacon drippings, onion, celery, green pepper, salt (if needed), and hot pepper sauce.
Place the beans on a greased shallow ovenproof dish.
Cover the top with bacon or frankfurter.
Bake covered about 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 30 minutes.
