Set simple syrup aside; let cool to room temperature. In a blender, process cantaloupe, zest, juice, and mint leaves until smooth. Stir in syrup and tequila. Freeze, stirring occasionally, until thick slush forms, at least 2 hours. Pour into 4 glasses; garnish with mint sprigs and lime slices.
