Put all batter ingredients BUT BAKING SODA in a 3qt saucepan and bring to a boil over medium – medium/high heat and continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly the entire cooking time.
Remove from heat and then add: Baking Soda. Stir completely in…batter will foam and double in size.
Pour over 6 quarts of popped popcorn and stir to coat completely. Be careful not to touch caramel sauce…it will leave a mark! Put coated popcorn into oven and bake @ 200 for 1 hour 15 minutes stirring every 15 minutes. When done pour hot popcorn onto clean towel or sheet to cool. Do not use paper towel unless you like how it tastes. When cool gently break it apart and store in airtight container. Enjoy!
