Old time favorite of my dad's
Grease and flour 10" tube pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix flour, cinnamon and nutmeg, set aside. Mix carrots and buttermilk, set aside. Mix in a large bowl butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Mix flour mixture in 1/4's and carrot mixture in 1/3's to butter and sugar mixture.
Bake for 60-65 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes. Turn out of pan and sprinkle with confectionary sugar.
