Preheat oven to 325.
Butter and flour a 9x12 casserole dish.
Cream butter (in mixer) and add sugar gradually.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one.
Combine flour and salt, stir into batter. Beat until flour is moistened.
Pour into buttered and floured 9x12 casserole dish.
Bake at 325 for about 50-55 minutes or until golden and toothpick comes out clean.
You can also cook in a 10 inch tube pan for 1 hour 25 minutes. Cool 15 minutes then turn onto platter to finish cooling.
