From Bert Klimas at Grange Homemaking.
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Unroll 1 package of crescent rolls into the pan and pinch the seams closed.
Beat the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, egg yolk and egg until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over the crescent rolls in the pan.
Unroll the other package of crescent rolls and put on top of the cheese mixture. You don't have to seal the seams on the top layer.
Brush the top with egg white.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown. Cool 20 minutes, then pour (or brush) glaze over it.
Variations:
Substitute almond extract for vanilla and add some slivered almonds.
Add berries between the cream cheese and the top layer.
Drizzle Nutella over the cream cheese before the top layer goes on.
Drizzle melted chocolate over the top.
Dust with cocoa and powdered sugar.
