Suggest a better descriptionMelt butter in saucepan. Take off heat.
Add flour, whisk until smooth.
Add milk in small amounts, whisking until smooth after each addition.
Place back on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
Add salt, pepper, and onion to taste.
Add cheese last.
Serve with beat, meatballs or steamed vegetables.
NOTE: Cheddar, Monterrey Jack or Swiss cheeses work best.
