2. Slowly stir grits into boiling mixture.
3. Stir continuously and thoroughly until grits are well mixed.
4. Cover pot and cook on medium low for another 5 minutes or until grits have thickened.
5. Turn off the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Stir until just mixed.
