1/2 lb hamburger, 1/2 pound of ground pork, 3/4 C onion, 3/4 C shredded carrots, 3/4 C celery, 1 tsp basil, 1 tsp parsley, 4 tbs butter, 3 c chicken broth, 4 cups cubed potatoes, 1/4 c flour, 8 oz American cheese, 1/4 tsp pepper, 3/4tsp salt, 1 1/2 c milk, 1/4 c sour cream.
Brown beef and pork, saute onion, carrot, celery and spices. Add potatoes to broth boil and then simmer 10 min. Add sauted mixture. melt butter wisk in butter and then slowly stir into soup. Add cheese and milk and finally just before serving add sour cream. Yum!
