Preheat over to 350. Cut bread in criss-cross pattern (not all the way through). Stuff cheese slices into the bread. Rinse chopped onion and dry. Mix melted butter, onions and poppy seed. Place bread on enough foil to enclose the loaf. Pour butter mixture over the bread. Wrap foil leaving small opening at the top. Bake for 20 minutes.
