Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix cherries with 1 cup of sugar. Sprinkle in some tapioca. Add butter and almond flavoring and mix. Put mixture into pie crust. Put the top pie crust on and pinch the edges together. Egg wash and then sprinkle sugar on top of the crust. Poke with a fork or cut a few slits into the crust to allow steam escape. Cover edges with foil and bake.
Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Then reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for another 30 minutes. Let the pie cool and that's it!
